Desire and Passion

If you enjoy your occupation, your stress levels will be lower and your satisfaction level will be higher. If you dislike your occupation, then maybe it is time to consider a change in what you do to make a living. Take and evening or two to sit down and try and determine what type of occupation you would enjoy. Once you have decided what you would enjoy doing, go onto the Internet and research that occupation. If you don’t have access to the Internet at home, go to your local library or an Internet cafe and use their Internet access. Both locations will have someone there who can help you get the information you need. Find out exactly what the occupation requires in the way of special training, aptitude, equipment, etc. If special training or education is required, find out who provides it, how much it costs and how long it takes. Once you get the information, make a plan detailing how you are going to pay for the education or special training, where you are going to get it and when. Look into government grants and scholarships that may be available to you as well as other sources of educational funding. If your desire is strong enough, your mind will find a way to make it happen.

An intense desire for something is very powerful. Studies have shown that when you become passionate enough about something, that your mind becomes fixated on your passion or desire. Your thoughts, which are created by your mind, become very powerful, especially if you mix them with a single minded purpose, persistence and passion or burning desire. Everyone who is old enough to understand what money can do for them wants more of it. But wanting more or wishing for more will not necessarily bring you more. However, desiring more wealth with a passion that becomes an obsession, then planning ways and means to acquire riches and being persistent with no thought of quitting or failure and taking action on your plans will bring you the wealth that you desire.

Here are six steps to help you acquire wealth or any other thing that you desire with a burning passion.

1. Fix the exact amount of wealth you want to accumulate in your mind. Be very specific, right down to the penny. This is very important.

2. Determine what you will give in return for this wealth you desire. As the old saying goes, there is no such thing as a free lunch.

3. Set a definite date for possessing this wealth you desire.

4. Create a plan for carrying out your desire and begin immediately implementing this plan whether you are fully prepared or not. Immediate action on the plan is mandatory.

5. Write a clear, concise statement indicating the exact amount of money you want. Include the time limit for getting this money and what you will give in return for it. Also clearly describe the plan which you will use to accumulate this wealth.

6. Read your written statement out loud twice a day, once when you get up in the morning and once before going to bed at night. While you are reading your statement out loud, visualize yourself in possession of this money. See it, feel it in your hands and believe that you already have it.

Remember what I said at the start of the six steps. You must have a passionate burning desire for this money. This passion or burning desire will help you believe that you have it and that you can physically feel it. For these six steps to produce the desired result, you must be passionate and you must have absolutely no doubt whatsoever. Even if you meet with temporary defeat, don’t let anyone dissuade you, as every failure teaches you something that brings you that much closer to success. Remember that Thomas Edison had more than 10,000 failures before he invented the light bulb. He was finally successful because he never quit. He was just as passionate about his dream of making a light bulb after his ten thousandth failure as he was on his first attempt.

Today, we have a marvellous abundance of opportunities to assist us in making our dreams and desires into reality. Remember that no one is ever defeated until defeat has been accepted as reality. I have faith in you and I know that you will never accept defeat.

Thanks Bill. I've read Think & Grow Rich several times, and I've got As a Man Thinketh in my library, but I can't remember if I've read it all, or just some of it. With several hundred books, its kind of hard to keep track of which ones you've read and which ones you haven't. I'll have to dig it out and refresh my memory.
